Our Story
Originally from Santa Barbara County, CA, Michael Gallup and Yazmin Lomeli-Gallup started farming in 2017. Their first farm was a micro vegetable and flower farm in Carpinteria which lasted about 3 years until their desire to own a home and live off the land became a reality. Their dream took the pair to a remote 130-acre off-grid (exclusively solar powered and spring water fed) ranch in the mountains of Blue Lake, CA where Gallup Homestead was founded in 2020. The new climate, and off-grid challenges opened Yazmin and Michael up to a passion for flower farming and drying, and it was there that they decided to focus solely on fresh and dried florals. Since they welcomed their daughter, Maya, into the world in 2023, they decided to sell their off-grid homestead the summer of 2024 and move to the coastal town of Lompoc, CA to live and farm closer to family. They will also be growing flowers in Santa Ynez at Ecomama Farms, a biodynamic rose garden and gorgeous wedding venue.
